Cracking birds these. Very skittish due to the bank holiday weekend activities at Willen lake but also very obliging for the camera as they kept to the eastern shore.

A wander up Wood Lane this evening produced 18 Linnets, a Corn Bunting, a pair of GSWoodpeckers in cop and two rattling Lesser Whitethroats. Unlike other years I am seeing Lesser's but so far not many Common's.

Plenty of Nightingale activity at Little Paxton this morning but all-too frequently into bright sunshine and frustratingly further away than ideal. Maybe time to dust off that digiscope gear.
